This is a large residential development by McInerney Homes Ltd, located in an expanding residential belt to south fringe of Sligo City. Part of the overall design strategy for the 220 no residential units included social and affordable houses for the local authority, a crèche and a neighbourhood centre.
The Neighbourhood Centre of 1,350 sqm serves as a focal point for the local community providing essential services such as convenience store, pharmacy, hairdresser and other commercial units, designed to accommodate a range of community based services. In addition, there are 8 no contemporary residential units at first and second floor level with dedicated hard landscape amenity space.
Caltragh Crescent comprises of 33 no dedicated social and affordable units and included an extension of the adjacent local authority development. VHA's input included associated design, planning permission and construction supervision of the 4 no house types for these units in close collaboration with the local authority as well as specifications to meet the relevant Department Guidelines.
